Course Cavern Diver PADI Course
Diving in the grottoes extend the limits of recreational diving, they are interesting by themselves, and as part of the course they are useful for any advanced diver, even if he is not going to go cave diving.
Diving into the grotto is considered to be any immersion within the illuminated zone, that part of the cave, from any point of which you can constantly see the natural daylight illuminating the entrance to the cave.
The course of the Cavern Diver in Phuket includes 4 dives performed in two days.
During the first open water immersion, the skills of using the chassis coil are practiced and the emergency plan is discussed. The remaining 3 dives are made in the grottoes. The depth of penetration into the grotto is limited to the illuminated area, which is within 40 meters from the surface (including the distance in the vertical and horizontal). It is forbidden to make training dives in areas too narrow for partners to swim side by side or one slightly behind and above the other.
In the process of learning, the diver acquires the skills of making dives in the grottoes, relevant theoretical information, learning to recognize the problems and dangerous situations that may arise when making dives of this type.
Practical exercises include:
planning, organization, methods of conducting and the technique of making dives in the grottoes, as well as the problems and dangerous situations associated with this activity.
preparation of equipment, which includes, but is not limited to lanterns, chassis ends, coils and spare air sources.
proper body position and control of buoyancy, the ability to expend air and to act correctly in emergency situations.
risk management, actions in case of deterioration of visibility, entanglement of the running end and its breakage, loss of the running end, as well as emergency situations characteristic of diving in the grottoes.
To enroll in a course, a diver must be certified with the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver or an appropriate association with another association, at least 18 years old. Upon completion of training, a certificate is issued Cavern Diver РADI.
