Diving – the best combined programs
The basic set of flights, hotel accommodation, insurance, transfers and dive package – the lot of weekly tours to Egypt. Driving away implies a great duration and a wealth of impressions – you must admit, it is a pity to climb behind “distant lands” and not see anything except the territory of your hotel. Moreover, only the most fanatical scuba diving enthusiasts will be satisfied with diving alone. Therefore, in the tenth anniversary article we will discuss the most popular programs of the summer season. By the way, perfectly suitable for those who like to swim with a mask and snorkel.
As it happens
Usually, a complex diving tour combines several different types of recreation: as a rule, it is a tour of the capital or a major city on the way to a diving resort, then 5-7 days of active diving, and only then a beach holiday or excursion. The most enthusiastic divers can combine for 5-7 days of diving at two different resorts or a week of diving safari with daily diving on the coast.
The combination of different types of recreation involves visiting different resorts, and even countries. On average, it turns out to be located in three locations for the program, given that some cities turn out to be the place for the necessary connection of air travel to the final destination.
By the way, here you can recommend “looping” international air tickets. For example, with Emirates Airlines and Qatar Airways you can fly to Kuala Lumpur and fly from Singapore, and on Aeroflot flights fly to Hong Kong, and fly from Beijing without a significant increase in cost.
In Singapore, the main gateway of the SEA, flights of many airlines arrive, forming very convenient connections to Denpasar (Bali), Kuala Lumpur, Manila and even Port Moresby in Papua New Guinea. Singapore invariably conquers the heart of every traveler, so starting or ending the program with a couple of nights in the city or on Sentosa is a great idea, especially since citizens of the Russian Federation do not need to receive a visa in advance for up to 96 hours.
Combined routes in Malaysia usually start from Kuala Lumpur or Singapore. Two nights is enough for exploring the main attractions of cities, after which you can go to the following resorts. The classic option – to move to the island of Borneo for diving at one of the surrounding small diving resorts, the flight will take about 2.5 hours. Previously, the destination was the same – divers sought to dive exclusively on the famous Sipadan. But now the rules of the reserve have been tightened, and access to the island is open to only 120 divers per day out of a thousand-plus volunteers, so it’s time to pay attention to other resorts: Mataking, Pom-Pom, Lankayan and Layang-Layang. Each of them can be reached in less than an hour flight from Kota Kinabalu (on the way back, it is recommended to spend several nights of a beach holiday). More active travelers can add 2-3 nights of adventure in the jungle of Borneo: miniature elephants and rhinos, smoky leopards and other rare animals are found on the island.
Summer offers other opportunities for combined tours to Malaysia. Almost in the middle of the Malacca Peninsula, 5.5 hours journey from Kuala Lumpur, lies Taman Negara National Park. This is the oldest jungle of the planet, whose age – 130 million years – exceeds the age of the Amazon jungle! For 2-3 nights accommodation in wooden cottages right on the territory of the park you can get acquainted with the unique life of the rainforest, its inhabitants, take a walk along the cableway in the canopy of trees. Then go to any of the islands off the east coast: Tioman, Redang, Perhentian, Lang-Tengah. These little “captured” by the tourists of the island offer excellent opportunities for diving and beach holidays in the lap of beautiful Malaysian nature. By the way, there are direct flights to Tioman from Singapore, so you can return via this city – the flight will take no more than an hour.
